crowdfunding

I checked out what feels like a gazillion crowdfunding platforms over the last couple of months – none of them seemed to give scope to do what I wanted to do.  Speaking with friends that had crowdfunded in the summer, this was confirmed.

Sooo, I’ve used free time that I didn’t really have to create what you see now – a crowdfunding platform that will raise funds to go straight towards the project, as well as give people access to courses and resources at rock-bottom prices for a couple of months.

We go live on the 1st December – watch this space!

I was sent a link

A friend in Ireland sent me a link to some land.  I was super excited to explore the possibilities it held… and for a little minute I got carried away imagining what I could do with such an incredible space.

In reality I soon realised that 32 acres would be way too big! Although it would provide some amazing opportunities, the upkeep, cost, and safety of taking on something that size for the longterm dawned on me – it was too much of a commitment. 

This experience, along with a great mentoring session with Stephen from Lendrick Lodge has enabled me to get a much clearer picture of the amount of land I do want. 6-10 acres will be PLENTY, and it feels great to be able to truly visualize what it is that will be needed to create this space.

I know that co-creating this space is what my wild soul is meant to do, so having a vision that I can now focus on and begin to manifest is exciting.  32 acres is too big, and it’s good to know.

I never wanted a retreat centre

and then suddenly, Spring 2021, I had the idea of buying a property in Ireland to run my courses and events at…

The cost was prohibitive, but I let myself run with the idea, and arranged to go and look at some properties when I was in Ireland holding my Firewalk Instructor Certification course that May.

BOOM!

In a random conversation about it with Stephen who owns Mayo Glamping he casually mentioned ‘if you want a hand building any huts, let me know’ and a seed was planted.  Over the coming weeks a dream grew in my head that was suddenly much more affordable/doable – it includes some ambitious ideas!  (it wouldn’t be me if it didn’t) Including hosting courses to enable others to learn more about building their own retreat centres, or garden spaces, from the ground up.

the seeds are ready to grow

Over the last few months these seeds have turned into a calling. One that has filled my planning time, as well as my dreams.  One that I know I can’t turn my back on, and so here we are – getting ready to welcome the Wild Soul Retreat Centre into the World.
